Tories will be good housekeeper
Written: 19th May, 2008
David Cameron says a Conservative government would provide the "good housekeeping" the UK economy needs.
In a speech in Birmingham, he will call for the proportion of national income used for public spending to be cut "to create the space for cutting tax".
The Tory leader will also criticise Labour for "reckless" economic management, adding: "We need to start living within our means."
Taxpayers "can't take any more pain", he is expected to add.
