Sport- Stuart Downing signs Boro deal

The 23-year-old left-sided midfielder had been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Downing, who joined the club as a schoolboy and graduated from the academy in 2002, has played for Boro for his entire career, apart from a brief loan spell at North East rivals Sunderland in 2003.
Middlesbrough had claimed that Downing verbally agreed the contract earlier in February but the player's agent, Ian Elliott, insisted that his client would see out the remainder of his previous deal, which expired in 2010.
The terms of the agreement have not yet been specified.
